@GoogleStartups Step 1 is defining what it means to level the playing field in this context. To me it means providing equitable access and removing barriers to information, networks, and capital for founders who have not had full access to these resources in the past... #GFSxJewel
Frank’s Take: Janine has the grit that self-funded founders need in order to power through the difficult parts of the early days of building a company. There isn’t a safety net of cash (plus the difficult full time job of being a mom) so for her to succeed given all thats against her, you have to give praise:

@shl 👋🏼 @NextChapterBK is bootstrapped, over 6,000 customers in an extremely niche market (bankruptcy attorneys), 14% MoM growth for 3 years and just got acquired. Now growing into other markets with support and still acting bootstrapped. Can’t take the startup out of the founder. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Everyday I worked hard and imagined sending an email to the whole “keep me in the loop” list with the subject line: NextChapter was Acquired!

In September, I sent it. 🔥
