Decide what kind of life you really want, then say no to everything else that isn’t that

Don’t count the days make the days count!
Rae’s take: Honestly, covid-quarantine has made it really easy to say no but it’s been harder to stay motivated and taking advantage of the down time. Just because people expect less from me right now doesn’t mean I should! Get to know Rae.

Tactical Guides—adapting to coronavirus
How to keep your business thriving during (and after) the coronavirus
Last week I asked how you’re adapting to our new reality. Here’s how you answered:
Frank: Using my self journal to plan out my day, and ensure that I go to the “office” which is anywhere but my bedroom. Get to know Frank.
Jeremiah: Windpact (featured in the Startup Showcase below) is using SOCOCO to help keep our office connected. It’s a great visual tool to resemble an actual office environment and integrates Zoom/Hangouts for video conferencing. I highly recommended! Get to know Jeremiah.
Jai: Adapt as best you can.  Is there a way to re-position your product/brand messaging? E.g. could your product help save customers money or navigate a recession? Get to know Jai.
Rae: Social distancing has forced me to turn what would be in-person intro coffee meetings into phone or videos calls—but there’s been a surprising benefit with the phone calls: within 15 minutes I can tell if there’s mutual synergy and it’s really easy to end the phone call early. As a business owner new to the city, I’ve prioritized networking but this quarantine has helped me learn to protect my time. Even after this lockdown ends, I’m going to continue having a quick “discovery” phone call before I commit to meeting IRL. Get to know Rae.

Windpact • Impact protection—breaking ground and protecting people in sports, military, automotive and more
Shawn Springs played in the NFL for 13 seasons (Seahawks, Redskins, Patriots). High impact hits were the name of the game—he experienced a severe concussion while pursuing Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabbbut. But after a minor car accident where his child in a car seat was unharmed, he set down a path to bring the same technology in carseats to football helmets and beyond. Now he is leading a paradigm shift into how companies develop products in the impact protection space.
